त

 तक्रम्  takram  Medicated buttermilk. Prepared by churning yogurt with 4 parts water. A vital therapeutic beverage and Anupāna (vehicle) in Panchakarma and for digestive disorders.

 तक्र कुर्चिका  takra kūrcikā  The solid coagulated portion obtained when milk is boiled with a small amount of buttermilk. Similar to paneer or fresh cheese.

 तक्र वर्गः  takra vargaḥ  A therapeutic category of various types of medicated buttermilk preparations, each with specific indications.

 तण्डुलोदकम्  taṇḍulodakam  The starchy water obtained from washing rice. Used as a cooling drink and in pharmaceutical processing.

 तत्क्षणम्  tatkṣaṇam  Immediate, instantly, without delay. (e.g., a drug that acts immediately).

 तनु  tanu  Thin, dilute, fine, subtle, tenuous, scanty. A quality (Guṇa) opposite of Sthūla (dense).

 तनुः  tanuḥ  The physical body; the material manifestation of the self.

 तनुत्वम्  tanutvam  The state of being thin or diluted.

 तनुरोम  tanuroma  Fine or vellus body hair.

 तनुसिराराजी  tanusirārājī  A network of fine, visible capillaries or veins under the skin.

 तन्तुजालगवाक्षितम्  tantujālagavākṣitam  A appearance described as being "fenestrated like a net of threads"; a reticular or net-like pattern.

 तन्तुमत्त्वम्  tantumattvam  The "thread-forming" test for Avaleha (electuary). A perfect Avaleha, when poured, forms continuous threads without breaking.

 तन्त्रम्  tantram  1. The system of Ayurveda in its entirety. 2. The body as a whole, integrated system.

 तन्त्रयुक्तिः  tantrayuktiḥ  The methodological principles and devices used for composing, interpreting, and understanding scientific treatises.

 तन्द्रा  tandrā  A state of drowsiness, lethargy, and mental heaviness where the person is neither fully awake nor asleep. A cardinal symptom of Kapha aggravation.

 तन्मात्रा  tanmātrā  The five subtle, primordial elements (Sound, Touch, Form, Taste, Smell) which are the precursors to the five gross elements (Mahābhūtas).

 तपनीयम्  tapanīyam  A term for highly refined, brilliant gold. Used to describe a healthy, radiant, golden-red hue of blood.

 तप्तखल्वः  taptakhalvaḥ  A mortar and pestle that has been heated as part of a specific pharmaceutical process (e.g., for making certain types of Kupīpākvā Kalpanā).

 तमः  tamaḥ  1. One of the three Guṇas (qualities of nature), representing darkness, inertia, ignorance, and delusion. 2. Physical darkness.

 तमकश्वासः  tamaka śvāsaḥ  A specific type of asthma characterized by paroxysmal attacks of breathlessness, often triggered by allergens (a subtype of Śvāsa Roga). *Not simply "blackout".*

 तमोदर्शनम्  tamo darśanam  Seeing darkness; temporary loss of vision (e.g., before fainting).

 तर्पक कफः  tarpaka kaphaḥ  A sub-dosha of Kapha located in the head. It nourishes, protects, and lubricates the brain, sense organs, and mind.

 तर्पणम्  tarpaṇam  1. The act of satiating or nourishing. 2. A specific therapy where medicated oils/ghee are instilled into the nostrils (Nasya).

 तृष्णा  tṛṣṇā  1. Pathological thirst. 2. Excessive craving or desire (in a psychological context).

 तालुः  tāluḥ  The palate (both hard and soft palate).

 तालुपातः  tālupātaḥ  Paralysis or drooping of the soft palate/uvula.

 तिक्तरसः  tikta rasaḥ  The bitter taste. Composed of Air and Ether elements. Its primary actions are detoxifying, reducing Pitta and Kapha, and cleansing the body.

 तीक्ष्णम्  tīkṣṇam  A quality (Guṇa) meaning sharp, penetrating, intense, and potent. It aggravates Pitta and is used to break through blockages.

 तीक्ष्णाग्निः  tīkṣṇāgniḥ  A state of hypermetabolism where the digestive fire (Agni) is excessively sharp, leading to rapid digestion and constant hunger. A Pitta-dominant condition.

 तैजसद्रव्यम्  taijasa dravyam  A substance in which the Fire element (Teja Mahābhūta) is predominant. Such substances are typically hot, sharp, and transformative.

 तैलम्  tailam  Any medicated oil. Used internally and externally for oleation (Snehana) therapy.

 तोदः  todaḥ  A pricking or piercing type of pain, like that of a needle.

 त्रिकटु  trikaṭu  "The Three Pungents": A classic combination of Śuṇṭhī (Zingiber officinale), Marica (Piper nigrum), and Pippalī (Piper longum). *It does not include cardamom or cinnamon.*

 त्रिकम्  trikam  The sacrum. The triangular bone at the base of the spine. Also refers to the sacral region.

 त्रिफला  triphalā  "The Three Fruits": The most important Ayurvedic combination of Āmalakī (Emblica officinalis), Bibhītakī (Terminalia bellirica), and Harītakī (Terminalia chebula). A fundamental rasāyana and cleanser.

 त्रिदोषहर  tridoṣahara  A substance or therapy that pacifies all three Doṣas (Vāta, Pitta, Kapha).

 त्वक् / त्वचा  tvak / tvacā  1. The skin. 2. The bark of a tree or plant (e.g., Tvak is the Sanskrit name for cinnamon bark).

 त्वक्स्फोटनम्  tvak sphoṭanam  Cracking or fissuring of the skin.

 त्वच्यम्  tvacyam  Beneficial for the skin; a category of substances that promote skin health.

 त्वरितगतिः  tvarita gatiḥ  Rapid, hurried, or brisk movement or gait.
